What is TEAM - Traditional East Asian Medicine

Traditional East Asian Medicine

TEAM is a holistic healthcare system that promotes natural healing. One of the primary beliefs is that disease and pain come from an imbalance of Qi.

Qi is the vital energy of our body, our life force. This energy flows through channels or meridians, nourishing every organ, muscle, tissue and cell in our body.

A few disruptors to qi flow are trauma, stress, poor diet, and lack of exercise.

Acupuncture/Acupressure

Acupuncture is the practice of inserting fine, sterile needles to the skin on specific anatomical points on the body. Acupressure is the use of pressure (instead of needles) on the same points.

The needles (or pressure) stimulate points along channels in the body which then trigger a chemical release within the nervous system. These signals assist the body in restoring its natural ability to heal.
